Athletic Director
Dear South Pike School District Community
It is an honor and blessing to be named Athletic Director for South Pike School District. Thank you for this opportunity to serve the students and coaches of the district. My twenty-five years plus of coaching and teaching experience has led to experience in Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi. It is hard to find a sport that I have not had some experience in. My educational qualifications are a Master of Science in Sports Administration and Marketing from Mississippi State University, and Certification in Administration from the University of West Alabama. As a student athlete I was blessed to achieve a dream of playing college football on the Division 1 level for Liberty University and later transferring to Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. I then served as a graduate assistant coach in the Strength and Condition of the Mississippi State Athletic Depart under Coach Jackie Sherrill. In 1998, I was blessed to apart of the building of a new college football program under Coach Norman Joseph, at Belhaven University, serving as their defensive line coach.
I’m a native of Foley, Alabama along the Alabama Gulf Coast, and a graduate of Foley High School.
My family has been along for this journey and very excited. My wife of 29 years, Stephanie Day is a native of Crystal Springs, MS. Our Children, Courtney Harris McMillian, son-in law Blake, and grand daughter Mary Grace reside in North Port, AL. Lauren Harris is a world class feature twirler in the band at the University of Louisiana Monroe, working on her master’s degree. Our son Will is enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
I see many positive things about our South Pike Athletic Department. Tradition runs deep here. I’m excited to come alongside our great coaches and serve them to continue to make South Pike Athletics a first-class experience for our students, community, alumni, and stake holders. I ask that you consider coming along aside us and join us in this endeavor to pursue overall excellence.
