Osyka Elementary and South Pike High Schools Participate In "A Banker In Every Classroom" Program

Pike National Bank in McComb, affiliated with the Mississippi Bankers Association, presented the "A Banker in Every Classroom" program to students at Osyka Elementary School. This program, designed for grades K-6, was taught by counselor Takeshia Jefferson-Pickens during Character Education classes. The students were given piggy banks, activity sheets, and pencil pouches containing $0.82 to count and sort. They also read the book "Money Matters."

First Bank's "Banker in Every Classroom" program was also hosted at South Pike High School for 9th - 12th College and Career Readiness Classrooms. This program brings together Mississippi bankers and teachers to promote financial literacy for K-12 students. Over 100,000 Mississippi K-12 students have participated in this successful statewide program, which allows bankers to provide personal finance lessons in public and private school classrooms throughout Mississippi. We appreciate Mr. Curtis Butler for including our staff and students in this program and helping improve financial literacy among our youth.

SOARING TO EXCELLENCE!
