Registration is open for free summer professional development from friEDTech for teachers and administrators.

WOW Academy
Two-day in-person workshop to assist teachers with using technology to create rich, interactive, and collaborative learning activities. Participants can register for one of three locations: Oxford  (June 5-6)Biloxi (June 7-8), and Meridian (June 8-9). Seats are very limited, so please register today. Participants will be eligible for 1.2 CEUs.

 Google Up! Certification Bootcamp

Two-day in-person Google Level 1 Educator workshop on June 6-7 at O’Bannon High School in Greenville. Participants can earn 1.2 CEUs, 10 SEMIs, or 1.0 OSL and receive a voucher to take the certification exam at no cost. Once enrolled, participants have 10 months to complete the course. Course completers will receive a Certificate of Completion and must apply for CEUs, SEMIs, or OSLs within six months of completing the course.

To allow for various scheduling constraints, teachers can choose from two three-day sessions. Each subject-area session will accommodate 70 participants. The dates for the sessions are:

The Mississippi State Board of Education approved the newly revised College and Career Readiness standards May 18. Click here to view the revised curriculum (material presented to the State Board of Education). The new curriculum will be posted on the MDE Secondary Education College and Career Readiness webpage as well. Please note that Unit 9: College Transition / Summer Melt is new.

Professional development sessions will be provided via Zoom this summer to cover all changes to the curriculum. Click on one of the following links to register: Monday, July 24 from 9-11 or Monday, July 31st from 11-1. If you are not able to attend, a recording will be posted on the MDE Secondary Education College and Career Readiness webpage. (The same information will be covered in both sessions, so there is no need to attend both. Please choose one or the other.)

If you currently have access to the CCR Resources course hosted on Canvas at mvcc16.instructure.com, it will be deleted on Wednesday, May 31.
