Business Management Technology I is the first course of a two-year program for students in the Business Management, Marketing, and Technology Pathway.  The program is designed to prepare students for careers or continuing education in management or entrepreneurship and was written to incorporate the Business Administration Core Standards.  The curriculum framework includes applied economics content aligned to the 2007 Economics Framework Revised Academic Benchmarks.  Upon completion of this program, students will earn 1/2 Applied Economics credit to meet graduation requirements.  The course includes six other units:  Introduction to Business, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Professional Development, Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Business Law, and Business Operations and Security.  Students will receive 2 Carnegie units for Business Management Technology I.

 

Business Management Technology II is the second course of a two-year program for students in the Business Management, Marketing, and Technology Pathway.  The course consists of seven units.  These include Introduction to Business Management which includes the foundation skills necessary for mangers including communication, interpersonal skills, professional development, and business procedures.  The financial management unit includes consumer credit, managing a checking account, budgeting, payroll concepts, and business use of financial statements.  In the integrated strategic management unit students will investigate the role of American business in a global society, conduct marketing research, and produce a business plan.  Students will receive 2 Carnegie units for Business Management Technology II.
