Gyromee Magee Honored as SPHS Teacher of the Year
Mr. Gyromee Magee was recently named SPHS Teacher of the Year. He has spent his teaching career at Yazoo City High School, Warren Central High School, McComb High School and South Pike High School. Mr. Magee has taught U.S. History, Mississippi Studies, World Geography, World History, Government, Economics, and STEM. He has served as Social Studies department chair and has been a sponsor in the Student Government Association, the National Beta Club, and the National Honor Society. Mr. Magee has also served as a site supervisor of an after school tutorial program, archery coach, and cross country and track coach. He is well known as the voice of Eagle Nation as the play-by-play announcer for South Pike High School athletics. Mr. Magee's personal philosophy of education is the belief that all children can learn despite learning disabilities, economic background, and societal situations, and that each child deserves a teacher that has the highest of integrity in displaying leadership for the child. Congratulations Mr. Magee for being named SPHS 2016-17 Teacher of the Year.
