This new scholars program focuses on a more concentrated group of GEAR UP MS students, emphasizing college preparation through regular meetings, college campus visits, and service learning projects that are grade and age specific.  This component of GEAR UP MS brings students and their parents into the college information loop, helps students seriously consider higher education as a variable choice, and provides a replicable college-planning model for other GEAR UP MS schools.
