Magnolia Elementary Character Education News
Character Education Words of the Week at Magnolia Elementary were citizenship (where students learned ways to help in the community by being a good citizen, and the proper way to show respect by saluting the American flag when it passes in a parade, when the National Anthem is being played, and when the flag is being raised or lowered on a flagpole); self-discipline (demonstrating hard work controlling our emotions, words, actions, impulses and desires and giving your best in all situations;) fairness (practicing justice, equity, and equality; cooperating with one another; recognizing the uniqueness and value of each individual within our diverse society). Character education word of the month was responsibility. Students studied in depth about being accountable in word and deed and about having a sense of duty to fulfill tasks. They also learned about reliability, dependability, and commitment. |
