Magnolia Elementary is proud to announce that Labor Day officially marked the  end of the first month of our new school year, and it has proven to be a “Grand Opening” for our students, faculty, and staff.  “It has been a really great year, so far!”  says principal, Blake Brewer.  “We have a lot of promising days ahead if the beginning of school is any indication of the future.”

Mr. Brewer, a highly enthusiastic, visionary leader, brings new energy and finesse to the school district through his hand on approach to learning and leadership.  “Our vision is to create a more cohesive school with teachers, students, parents, and administration working together for one common goal.” says Brewer when asked about this approach to education.  The South Pike School District is excited to have him with us.

What’s New

at

Magnolia Elementary Campus?

If you have visited the Magnolia Elementary campus this year you know that many faces have changed.  However, one thing remains the same.  The academic standard at MES is extremely high.

Teachers are enjoying “group” planning periods so that they can incorporate many subjects within a given class period.  Also, schedules are arranged so that students return to homeroom for the last thirty minutes of the day.  This period of time is used for everything from Q&A to extra help in a given subject.  We at MES are excited about the changes taking place.  As always, parents are invited and encouraged to visit.

Parent Breakfast at Osyka

Approximately 100 parents joined students at Osyka Elementary School for the Breakfast With Books on Wednesday, November 7, 2007.  The students enjoyed eating breakfast with their parents and listening to their parents read books to them.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
