South Pike High School Powerlifting Team

2008 State Champions

The South Pike Powerlifting Team participated in Saturday’s State Powerlifting Meet held at Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, MS

and brought home the state championship title.

DeMario Richard set two more state records in the 242 class in the squat and in the deadlift in Saturday’s state championship competition. He squatted 705 lbs. for the new state record which was previously held by him. He also broke his previous record of 655 lbs. in the deadlift when he deadlifted 700lbs. for the new state record.

Kampatrice Slocum broke the bench press record in the 198 class by benching 140lbs. in Saturday’s girls’ competition also held at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, MS.
