Jasmine wrote a letter to Sharon Flake, author of The Skin I'm In, which was chosen as the state Level III third-place winner in the Letters about Literature writing contest! As a third-place winner, Jasmine will receive a cash prize.

2008 State Champions

The South Pike Powerlifting Team participated in Saturday’s State Powerlifting Meet held at Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, MS

and brought home the state championship title.

DeMario Richard set two more state records in the 242 class in the squat and in the deadlift in Saturday’s state championship competition. He squatted 705 lbs. for the new state record which was previously held by him. He also broke his previous record of 655 lbs. in the deadlift when he deadlifted 700lbs. for the new state record.
