Student Activities
Students at
Eva Gordon are actively engaged in learning beyond the classroom.
Music is a
big part of the educational process for
our students. Each grade level puts on a
production each year under the
direction of Mrs. Deana Stone, music teacher.
Students are
very involved in developing a love for reading through their library program.
This is done through stories, art and
hands on materials with Mrs. Phillis Waller,
library media specialist. Students also enjoy a
variety of activities that extend
beyond the classroom with field trips and on
campus special activities.
Several classes in first
grade and a third grade class have been raising Monarch caterpillars that have
been making chrysalises and turning into Monarch butterflies. There are
several pictures underneath the poem showing the release of some of the
Monarchs. Below is a
poem written by third grade student, Cleo Brown, about Monarch butterflies.
"A Butterfly Poem"
Out of the chrysalis comes a
butterfly.
It climbs out and goes so high.
They fly their way to Mexico.
They're so poisonous don't you
know.
They suck nectar from flowers
and sometimes they do it for hours.
