Eva Gordon Elementary provides educational services

                          to students in grades kindergarten through third.

                   This is truly where learning begins!

Established in 1962, Eva Gordon Attendance Center educated first through twelfth graders.  In 1972, it was changed to house first through sixth graders.  Undergoing a change once again in 2001, Eva Gordon came to its present state of being kindergarten through third grade. Eva Gordon is made up of students from rural Pike County, Mississippi.  The majority of the students come from poverty level families.  Eva Gordon Elementary presently has approximately 500 students enrolled.  Approximately 85% of the student population is African American while 15% is white.    Go to the web site below and help Eva Gordon win extra points!!  http://www.rewardyourschool.com/Sites/General_Mills_Box_Tops/Page/HomePage

Volunteer of the Month

Gayle Benoit

Ms. Gayle Benoit grew up in educational surroundings and never left.  She worked as an assistant and volunteer in St. Charles Parish from 1979 until she moved here in 1995.  She spent seven years (1987-1993) as a special education assistant in Louisiana.  Ms. Benoit assisted at Magnolia Elementary from 1997-2001.  Then she came to Eva Gordon Elementary where she worked as an assistant and then as a substitute until she retired to help her family in Louisiana in 2004.  She has been volunteering at Eva Gordon Elementary since 2005 and has become part of our family.  Ms. “B” is a treasure in kindergarten, and we appreciate her more than she can know.
